[VoCamp Discuss] VoCamp at WWW09?

Hi All,

Happy New Year to everyone!

A brief update on VoCamp Barcelona... so we have a room and open wifi in 
the building and we can have both free of charge. However, there is 
another option, namely to collocate the event with the next Future of 
Web Search Workshop, which will take place in Ibiza on the Friday and 
Saturday before WWW. This workshop is organized by Yahoo! Research 
Barcelona every year, and it's a larger but still fairly informal 
gathering as well (no paper submissions). Ibiza has possibly even 
cheaper hotels, flights would be probably the same, around 50 euros each 
way. It is not certain yet, but it might be possible that the workshop 
would also focus on semantic search.

In light of this somewhat partial information, I'm wondering how many of 
you feel strongly either for Barcelona or Ibiza, e.g. raise your hand if 
you would not come if VoCamp would take place in one or the other 
location. I'm also interested how many of you would attend the Future of 
Web Search WS. Last year's program can give you an impression of that 
workshop [1].
