[VoCamp Discuss] VoCamp DC Recap

Hi everyone,


Just wanted to give a brief recap on VoCamp DC (I updated the wiki also).
 Overall, I think it was quite successful.  Only 11 of the 40 people who
RSVP'ed attended, which I think was a blessing in disguise. It enabled us to
have a much more focused working session. We spent Saturday morning doing
introductions and having a few presentations and the rest of the time,
Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, was devoted to ontology development.

Marco Neumann had been working on exposing data from the website [
www.meetup.com meetup.com] as RDF. He had begun working on an ontology for
this purpose and we agreed that we would focus our efforts on trying to
complete as much of this ontology as possible.


I think we made a fair amount of progress, it is currently hosted in
the MeetupOntology
community in Knoodl<http://www.knoodl.com/ui/groups/MeetupOntology/vocab/MeetupOntology>.
We used Knoodl extensively during our session. It fit the task very well, as
we could all work on different parts of the ontology at the same time, while
being able to see each others work in real time.  Feel free to join the
community or contact myself or Marco (cc'ed) if you are interested in
contributing.


If anyone is interested in discussion anything further in detail, let me
know.  I'd be more than happy to schedule a call.  In the meantime, I'm
going to begin finalizing plans for VoCamp Baltimore.
